good: really cool looking out of the box, nice heavy metal quality, well-packaged, jaw easily moved up and out of the way bad: the inner diameter is quite small, will maybe fit someone with a hat size of 6 7/8 or less; the cushion between the metal and your head was not good quality, so the metal dug into the forehead overall: would be a good piece to have on a shelf to look at, but not good for a costume
Not sure just how 'medieval' this skull helmet is, but its definitely something. It looks more like an ape skull than anything else. Also, don't underestimate just how insanely HUGE it is...HUUUUUUUUGE. Furthermore, I'm not sure I'd recommend actually using it as a helmet. Its not finished in such a way to make wearing it comfortable in any way. To make matters worse, mine came smothered in some sort of oil or lubricant that I was never able to completely clean. Have fun putting that on your head. I ended up putting the helmet in my garden. It works pretty well there. Its heavy as heck so it definitely isn't going anywhere. Aging nicely from the weather.
Hilarious gift. Seeing my husband's reaction was priceless. It's really made out of copper though, so It's really bulky, and obviously isn't practical to wear. It looks great on a shelf though, and is an interesting conversation piece. Just be aware that since it's metal, it comes covered in oil, especially on the moving parts.
Not sure if this is ment to be worn but there is no way I could wear this for any length of time. Fits over the head alright but would rub your nose raw. Definetly would be a hindrance in any battle situation but really it does look awesome and its pretty rad its like actually made outta metal.
My teenage son wanted this to display in his room and for perhaps making a costume. We were both stunned by how impressive this helmet is! It is HEAVY and so well made. It fits him well and is nicely padded so it’s not uncomfortable to actually wear. The craftsmanship on this is just incredible! Worth every penny!
Who needs a mask when you can walk through life wearing this amazing piece of armor instead!! This medieval skull helmet is the coolest thing I've ever seen! What a great piece of art! Very well made, strong and sturdy! This isn't some cheap lightweight plastic mask..nope..this here is the real deal! The face part lifts up so you can put it on your head easily. I got this for my 18-year-old son for Christmas. He is 6'1 and this fits his head just fine as you can see in the picture I posted. This mask is a nice shiny copper color and you can either choose to wear this piece of awesomeness or just display it instead..either way, you can't go wrong and it's definitely worth every penny! Made from 18 Guage mild steel with solid brass accents. Inner diameter front to back 9.5 inches. ear to ear 7 inches. Height is 10 inches from top to bottom and Circumference is 27 inches suitable for every "standard adult!" This helmet is fitted with a leather liner and adjustable chin straps. ..RAWRRR!!!
Overall quality of this is very good. It's 100% steel with a copper-like finish. The liner is vinyl with a vinyl chin strap. One thing - I can't wear it. Obviously it's not flexible or adjustable I head is 23" in circumference. This may fit if it was 22 1/4 - it's that tight. The vinyl liner stops shore of the edges and is not much thicker then thin cardboard - so there's zero padding. If you really want to wear this, you'll need to replace the lining and add some real padding. Plus your nose will be smashed - the nose pocket is flat and about 3/4" too shallow. The bad points: The liner is not secured very well and peels off. The two nuts and bolts that act as hinges stick into the helmet by over 1/2" - so you feel them. They are also not locked in place. You'll need to adjust them and use some thread lock, then cut off the excess. For me this will be a display piece. It does open under it's own weight, so you can either tighten the hinges completely or use some Velcro.
This is cool beyond belief. I mean you get a real helmet. This thing could take a bang or two and you would be fine. The interior is comfortable and will fit most people. My head is bigger but I was able to get the helmet on and could tell this is a serious piece. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about this piece of art. I honestly can not believe this only costs what it costs. It is that cool. I could babble on forever but rest assured, what you read is what you get. This is a serious piece of armor for the price. You get real metal and a real interior. The helmet even comes pre oiled. I have not said this about to many things but just buy it.
The helmet is durable. It is sheet metal after all. It has okay hinges for the face to go up and down. The face does not stay fully down when the helmet is set on a table. Makes the item hard to display. The facial features are simple scoring with a sharp object. Kind of like when you are marking a tree with your initials. It is thin metal that is semi passable as a replica display item. I like it, but I don't love it and will most likely set in on empty shelf space in the garage until that space is needed. If it is still around at Halloween, I may add it to a costume.
This is so cool! It’s a copper fully-wearable (operational) skeleton helmet. It looks exactly like the photo. It’s got significant weight to it, being made from steel and brass. The head has a leatherette liner and adjustable chinstrap to wear it. Plus it makes the head piece much more comfortable and stay on. It arrives with an oil film on it to keep it in good condition and it’s probably a piece that will need to be ironed occasionally to keep it functioning properly. You can completely flip the front piece up and the mouth also moves. This piece is so cool and I think most will be very happy with it!
I've never had anything like this before, but I like it a lot. The face part even flips up and exposes your face just like the ones often shown in some movies. Its construction is very solid and sturdy, because it is made from 18 gauge mild steel, with solid brass accents, just as the listing describes. Not much else to say about it. The description was pretty thorough. If nothing else, everyone should consider getting something like this, for the coming future, when the economy collapses and our currency becomes worthless, and we wind up wandering a wasteland that's populated by a lawless society. You know, where canned goods and bullets will be our new currency, lol.
