I had no idea how heavy this piece would be. It is amazing and scary at the same time. The edges and welded areas are a bit sharp, so while my son wants to play with this, it would be better suited to hang on the wall. It has a handle, which encourages play/use with a costume perhaps. It also can be hung on a wall. It is a very high quality piece, and is gorgeous overall. Inspiring message about being courageous. I love it!
I recently ordered the 26x16in iron shield for my husband. We were impressed with the shield. It is heavy duty. It has the look of something that was created long ago. He has it displayed in his office and has received many compliments on it. He didn't have any issue with hanging it although it does have some weight to it.

I really like the size, heft and weight of the shield. The front aesthetics are pretty nice also. It has a hanging hook on the back as a hanging option. - Real Shield - All steel, hefty. This feels like it could be used defensively or offensively for real. - Needs Finish - The back and edges of the shield have a rough finish, literally rough around the edges. If you run your hand on it, it is rough and your hand will come out with black flakes. I wish the edges and back were smooth and had real finish so you did not have to worry about dirtying your hands or items when handling this. The front is a little better and smoother with this. It also seems like there are 2 sheets hammered and nailed together, but they do not perfectly align so there is some warpage and open spacing between the 2 sheets. - Okay for Cos fighting - If you want to sword play fight with this, it is fun and possible. However, due to the finish, your play fighting swords will have damage or marks on them due to the residue on the shield and the fact that you would be hitting metal edges.
It is actually rough around the edges. The design is OK but it also a little ragged around the letters and the lion. Instead of bending the front guard to seal off the exposed edges they just left them all exposed. The handle and the hanging mount feel a little flimsy as well. Over all the price is a little to high for the quality of this item.
This is a real shield! I was shocked when this got here I thought it was going to be plastic made to look like iron but it is real iron. The shield is truly beautiful on my wall I could also see this being used in cosplay. I think the way you mount it could be a little better because the hole is tiny and I had to drill the hole a little bigger to use a fastener that I like to use to hang things in my house. Over all I love this and want more décor to go with this.
This shield is very sturdy and heavy!! The print on it is pretty good, but I do have one letter/engraving that seemed to have missed it's mark. Parts of the edge is a little sharp and rusty, but it still looks pretty nice. Good shape, and definitely life size!
This is a full sized metal shield. It has a handle on the back as well as a bracket to hang it from a nail on the wall. It's made to look rustic and it is made well. It doesn't look or feel cheap and is definitely a presence on the wall. The etching is clear and the verse is easily read. There is a coating on it that will protect it too. Besides being good quality, this shield has a message we all need to reminded of sometimes.
This mountable shield is incredible! The craftsmanship is beautiful and my family loves having it mounted to our wall. It goes perfectly near our pool table and everyone who comes over loves it! It will definitely be in our family for years to come.
This is definitely strong and durable - it is made of metal and the back has both a handle and a keyhole style hanger to easily display it on a wall. My only complaint is it is a bit rougher than I expected for the price. (As in the shape isn't perfect, and there are some dents and such.) Also - this is stated in the description (but I missed it, but not removing stars because that was my fault) but the writing is embossed in the metal. I planned to repaint this and change the design as a craft project, and due to this I will have to fill the embossed text portion. This isn't anything wrong with the prodjuct - but if you had the same plans as I do, just keep that in mind.
I ordered this 26X16 Inch TASKD Medieval Iron Shield with an inspiring message because I had the perfect spot for it (see photo). I had a painting at that spot, but the image didn’t match the theme. However, this shield, with its inspiring message, is perfect. As already stated, it is all metal. There are no plastic parts. It comes with a handle for holding it, as you would expect an iron shield to have, and a bracket for displaying on a wall. The shield weighs 5-3/4 pounds, so mount it securely. My only complaint is that it came coated with a brownish coating to keep it from rusting. I understand the need for that, but not knowing it caused me to get that sticky stuff all over the place. They could include a note about that or shrink-wrap it. It was an unexpected inconvenience. That said, it does not distract from the fact that it’s a quality piece of art, and I’m pleased that I didn’t receive a rusted shield. If you’re wondering, it is painted on all sides, and that should protect it from rusting, but if it were to get scratched, that scratch could rust. Conclusion: My nine-year-old grandson thinks it’s awesome. The shield is authentic and very similar to the Medieval armor I saw in many of the old European castles. My favorite aspect is the inspiring Biblical message and artwork. This will likely become a family heirloom, or at least I hope it will. I am tempted to deduct a star for the Cosmoline-like goo I had to remove from the shield, my hands, and everything I touched. However, the quality of this shield cannot be understated, and giving it a four-star review might. So, I am making this a five-star review despite the issue with the coating.
This wall decor is weighty, yet ideal on size. Well made, great message. Definitely has a dramatic flair. A great gift for someone who needs the encouragement.
